Collector
Private collection, item not for sale, collector wishes to remain incognito -- a very rare and historic model. The wooden base shows the 50+ years it survived in the Middle East. The color scheme the Mystere wears is the first the IAF used on this type. This aircraft took part in the 1956 Sinai War and one example piloted by the late Major General Benjamin (Bennie) Peled was shot down by anti-aircraft fire of the Egyptians over Ras Nazrani in the South Sinai peninsula. Peled ejected, hid, and was finally rescued by a brave Piper pilot who landed near him. The Russian T-34 tank on the plinth was added (not glued or screwed, just placed there) because it adds to the scene and gives it a diorama atmosphere.
