Schaarshmidt 1/50 metal Lufthansa Viscount 800 model

I recently saw this 1/50 metal Schaarshmidt Lufthansa Viscount 800 model listed on ebay. The seller in France was asking 780 EUR (approx $1,000 USD) and the listing closed without any bids.

Indeed this is too much for this model. My view is the seller probably has to cut the price in half to generate interest. That said, it is a very nice model in decent condition.

I wonder how many examples of this model were produced back in the 1950s?
