Vancouver Aviation 2014 was the busiest show so far

This year’s Vancouver Aviation Collectibles show was the busiest so far. We had 300+ people attending the one day event and this year was our first time at the show's new location, the Richmond Rod and Gun Club in Richmond. This proved to be an excellent venue. Being a very short walk from the Aberdeen Station in Richmond, close to all amenities and with free on-site parking, we’re hoping to hold next year’s show at this same location.

This year we sold out our vendor tables and the room was bursting with early 50 packed-to-the-rafters tables of all sorts of aviation collectibles, including something for everyone. Models, postcards, DVDs, stickers, pins, books, log books, old aircraft manuals, uniforms from the 50s and 60s, uniform badges, and even hand made weather vans shapes after famous aircraft, made by AirVane.

For model collectors, there were a number of reasonably priced airline display models on offer, almost all of which were purchased within the first few hours of the show's 10 am opening to the public. The family of a retired and now sadly deceased former Canadian Pacific Airlines Captain was in attendance, and they had a whole tables of models for sale. One of the nicest models on offer at the show was a 1/60th scale Southern Airways Boeing 737 model, that dated from the 1960s. Price: $800. For the entry level collector just starting out there were 1/100 Mexicana Airbus A320 models for only $20 a piece!
