My fellow model collector friend in Germany kindly allowed me to photograph three really nice display models from his collection so that I might share them here for others to also enjoy these beauties.
Nemoto, Verkuyl and Westway Models are the makers of these models and they truly are works of art, in my opinion.
During the 1960s, Nemoto Models of Japan employed highly skilled model makers to produce highly detailed hand made models in wood and resin in various scales. Apparently many US servicemen station in Japan in the 1960s had Nemoto make models of the military aircraft they flew, and the Super Sabre pictures below is one such model.
Nemoto also made Pan Am 707 and DC-8 1/100 scale models in wood during the 1960s. The DC-8 is extremely rare and although I know it exists, I have never seen a photo.
The Verkuyl SC-7 Skyvan is a lovely little model, made of metal. Highly accurate.
