Douglas DC-7C KLM Raise-Up

Postby Bob Wilkes » Tue Feb 11, 2020 12:40 am

I am seeking any information about a Douglas DC-7C KLM Raise-Up 1/52 Display Model. I have owned this for the last 41 years. I am curious about value and history of this piece. I appreciate any information that anyone can offer.

I agree in that we need to see photos to provide more info. Value is driven by numerous factors, such as condition of the model, does it have original stand, original props, how well the decals were applied, the shelf appeal of the model etc. The value can vary by a wide margin. For example there is a 1/50 KLM Connie on ebay right now with no props, no stand and it is in need of full restoration. With no takers so far at 350 Euros. But the same model in mint beautiful original shape with original stand and props could achieve $1500 -$2000 for the right buyer. May I suggest purchasing my value guide for display models as it is chock-a-block loaded with info on valuing professional aircraft display models:

That’s a beautiful model. It’s great to see a model such as this survive all these years.

Sure is a very nice model. To my eyes it looks like a 1/72 scale model. But if it is a 1/50 scale then it is more valuable. As a 1/50 scale I would say it values in the $1000-$1500 range.
