Restoring a 1960s 1/50 Comet 4C by Westway Models

Here is another model I have been waiting to restore for the past 10-15 years. This is a Westway 1/50 Comet 4C that was made in the 1960s in Aeronaves de Mexico livery.
The model is made of plastic or foam pieces that have shrunk over the years. So I sanded all the remaining livery off the model and then flaked off all the cracked and flaking paint. Which you can see from the photos below.
The model will now need to be putty filled and sanded before we can do the primer paint application. Which will then lead to silver and white finishing paint. But that is some time away.
I will keep everyone updated by posting progress photos. Although I won't let the cat out of the hat, I do have a livery and decals prepared for the final finish, and it is one of my favourite Comet colour schemes. Suffice it to say that I am not finishing the model in Aeronaves de Mexico livery. Stay tuned!
